Massanutten Public Service Corporation understands the burden that customers experience in affording essential goods like housing, food, and clean water. As your water and sewer service provider, we wish to be part of the solution to these challenges.
We are dedicated to ensuring our customers have safe, clean, and affordable water and sewer service.
As part of our efforts to do just that, we have proposed a low-income rate for our residential customers who are at or below the federal poverty level
, to ensure our entire community of customers has access to and can afford the services required to remain healthy. This low-income rate is available to residential customers on an application-only basis.
Customers need only apply once every 12 months to verify that they remain eligible for the lower rate. To apply, please contact our partner Elkton Area United Services by calling (540)298-8685 ext.0 or by emailing email@example.com. Elkton Area United Services will verify your income on our behalf, ensuring your continued privacy.
To check eligibility for our low-income rate before applying, please go to https://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines and look for information about a family of your size.
If your income is at or below the applicable level, you will be eligible for a lower rate on typical monthly water usage, up to 2,700 gallons per month. Should you use over the 2,700, any additional gallons will be charged at the regular residential rate. Our full schedule of interim rates can be located on our website: https://www.uiwater.com/virginiam/regulations/tariff-rates
